1. Introduction

BaseConf respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Information We Collect

Web tools: We collect no personal data from the web configurators. There are no accounts, no tracking cookies, and no script content is ever transmitted to our servers. Cloudflare Web Analytics may collect anonymous page view data — this uses no cookies and captures no personal identifiers.

Desktop application: License validation sends your license key and a hashed hardware ID to our server. No configuration data, registry values, or profile contents are transmitted.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • License validation: To verify your Builder license and manage machine activations.
  • Anonymous analytics: To understand which pages are popular and improve the website experience.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Script & Configuration Data

All scripts are generated client-side in your browser. We never see your configurations.

The desktop application stores profiles and backups locally on your machine in %AppData%\BaseConf\. We have no access to your .baseconf files, backups, or audit logs. Your configuration data stays entirely on your machine.

5. Cookies

The BaseConf website uses no tracking cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics is entirely cookie-free.

The Build Config page uses localStorage to save your settings across sessions. This data is stored in your browser and never leaves your machine.

6. Data Sharing

We do not share personal data with third parties. The following services are involved in operating BaseConf:

  • LemonSqueezy / Gumroad: Payment processing for license purchases. These services have their own privacy policies.
  • Cloudflare: Website hosting and anonymous analytics.

7. Data Security

License validation uses HTTPS encryption. We store minimal data — only license keys and hashed hardware IDs. We do not store passwords, payment details, or any configuration data.

8. Your Rights

  • You may request deletion of your license data by contacting privacy@baseconf.com.
  • You may deactivate your license at any time from within the desktop application.

9. Data Retention

License data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 30 days after expiration or cancellation. Anonymous analytics data is retained for 12 months.

10. Children's Privacy

BaseConf is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Your continued use of BaseConf after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
